Waterloo Schools Sweep WCSSAA Finals

In the WCSSAA finals tonight at Preston, the Bluevale Knights (junior) and WCI Vikings (senior) captured their respective championships.

In a game that was close throughout, the Knights pulled away at the end to defeat Jacob Hespeler 48-39.  The Hawks were making JHSS' first ever appearance in a basketball final in the school's 25-year history.

WCI, meanwhile, was without Lindsay Lessard but beat KCI in the senior final 44-33.  The Vikes led 22-7 after the first half, which saw KCI shoot 1-for-23 from the floor.

Oh, and I picked WCI by 10 and Bluevale by 8.  Usually doesn't work out quite so well but I'll take it.
