Waterloo Wildhawks U19 Take HoopDome Tournament Title

Congratulations go out to the Waterloo Wildhawks U19 squad, who were victorious this past weekend at the HoopDome tournament in Toronto, pulling away late to take down MUMBA in the championship final, 78-57.

The 'Hawks showed tremendous balance on the offensive end of the floor, with four players notching 14 or more points --- Adam Voll (17), Juwan Miller (15), Javon Masters (14) and Jacob Ranton (14).

Meanwhile, Vedran Dmitrovic did a stellar job on MUMBA's Sammy Mohamed, the Scarborough Mother Teresa star who committed last week to Algoma University.  Mohamed was held to just 6 points on the afternoon.

The Wildhawks appear to be peaking at the right time, with the OBA Championships just around the corner (May 25-27).  The Waterloo-based squad will have the advantage of home cooking that weekend, as the tournament will be played locally here in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Team members (and HS team this past season) include:  Filip Cvrkalj (Grand River); Henry Bankazo and Adam Voll (St. Mary's); Juwan Miller and Javon Masters (Forest Heights); Cory Kenning (Resurrection); Jacob Ranton and Malcolm Piazza (WCI); Josh Johnson (Holy Trinity) and Vedran Dmitrovic (Cameron Heights).  The coaching staff includes Scott Reynolds (Grand River), Aaron Tomlin (Huron Heights) and Doros Theodosiou (Bluevale).
