Junior: Renegades Victorious At Hoopdome Championship

The Grand River Renegades continue to live up to their #1 CWOSSA ranking, having gone to the GTA this weekend and beating a very strong Notre Dame (Ajax) squad 51-48 in the championship game of the Hoopdome HS Tournament.

The Renegades rolled through their pool games, defeating Humberside 52-21 and Scarborough Pope John Paul II 47-32.

This advanced GRCI to the championship final, where they were up 9 with about 4:00 to play.  However, a big run by Notre Dame allowed them to take a one-point lead before Mackenzie Miller hit the go-ahead basket with :30 to go and the Rens would add another uncontested lay-up in the waning seconds.

Miller (MVP) and Grade 9 Tara Deboer were both named to the all-tournament team.
