The Junior Resurrection Phoenix completed a sweep in Sarnia en route to the St. Patrick's Junior Boys' Tip-off Championship this past weekend.Resurrection started the 6-team, pool-play event by defeating Sarnia Northern, 73-52. They would win their pool with a 69-50 victory over London Saunders, advancing them to the semifinals against St. Basil (SSM) where they would cruise to a 76-31 win.
In the finals, the Phoenix had a rematch against Sarnia Northern, who had defeated Sarnia St. Patrick in the other semifinal. A solid defensive effort allowed the Phoenix to pull away in the second half to a 60-39 win, with all five starters notching at least 7 points.
Muyang Iluya (13) and Prince Dang (11) were the high scorers for Resurrection in the championship final.
