The 6th annual "Purple & Gold" Junior Boys Basketball tournament, co-hosted by Resurrection CSS and Huron Heights SS, is set to go for this coming weekend in Kitchener.As usual, there's strong CWOSSA representation including 6 ranked teams from my last ranking before the Christmas break: Resurrection, SJAM, Cameron Heights, Grand River, North Park & Bluevale.
Here's a look at the first-round bracket (Friday games):
Top Bracket @ Resurrection
8:30am - Resurrection vs. Forest Heights
10:00am - St. Basil (SSM) vs. Brantford Assumption
11:30am - Cameron Heights vs. St. John's
2:30pm - Bluevale vs. St. David
Bottom Bracket @ Huron Heights
8:30am - SJAM vs. Brantford CI
10:00am - London Banting vs. Eastwood
11:30am - Grand River vs. North Park
1:00pm - Saltfleet (Hamilton) vs. Huron Heights
All schools will play a second game on Friday, while semifinals & finals will go on Saturday. All "championship games" go at Resurrection on Saturday, starting with the Consolation Final (2:30pm). The third-place game (4:00pm) and Championship Final (5:30pm) will be played after.
