Recently, the U16 TIDP team from Tri-County (essentially the CWOSSA area) took home the Gold Medal at the Ontario Summer Games hosted by St. Clair College in Windsor.The squad went 2-1 in pool play with wins over St. Clair (69-59) and Centre East (94-70) and a loss to Kawartha (71-66).
The semifinal went in the books as a 77-69 win over South Simcoe, before Tri-County clicked on all cylinders in the final, rolling over Capital Region 91-66.
Team members included: Jake Chaput, Nick Marquis, Jeff Morales, Keegan Feeney, Justin Hardy, Zane Whelan, Curtis Gordon, Chris Jin, Devon Gallivan, Nick Rankin, Yanna Kawe and CISAA player Simon Chamberlain.
Tri-County was coached by Nick Pankerichan and Nick Rusick.
