The BCSSAA basketball finals, which are both "best 2 of 3" series, will begin tonight at Pauline Johnson C&VS in Brantford.
On the senior side, the undefeated Assumption Lions (#1 seed) will be battling the #2 North Park Trojans, who survived a 1-point win against #3 St. John's in last week's semifinals.
All of the senior CWOSSA berths (those advancing to either CWOSSA directly or a play-in game) have been determined. Pauline Johnson (AA), North Park (AAA), and Assumption (AAAA) will be the representatives.
It's #1 vs. #2 on the junior side as well, with top-ranked St. John's battling #2 North Park.
None of the CWOSSA berths have been sorted out on the junior side --- the winner of the finals will take the AAA spot, while play-in games are required for AA (Pauline Johnson vs. Paris) and AAAA (Brantford CI vs. Assumption).
Today's junior games start at 5:30pm, with the seniors to go at 7. The series will continue on Thursday (same times), and if a third game is required, it will go on Wednesday, February 18th.
