The St. Mary's Eagles and St. David Celtics may yet again be on a collision course for the D8 finals.
A year removed from a season that saw the Celtics squeak past the Eagles in the championship final, both squads posted victories today to remain as two of the three undefeated squads in the D8 circuit (Resurrection is also 1-0).
St. David 57, St. Benedict 22
St. David had the easier time today, cruising past St. Benedict in Cambridge by a 57-22 final. The Celtics got a 20-point effort from Tabitha Ziegfried, while Andrea Zipansa chipped in 15 for the Saints.
St. Mary's 41, Monsignor Doyle 26
Surprising not to see Kaitlyn Schenck among the top scorers after scoring 20+ PPG over the weekend. At any rate, Laura Boterman chipped in 9 points for Mary's while Doyle's balanced attack was led by Sam Edwards with 8.
