The Bishop Macdonell Celtics made it 11 straight Senior CWOSSA "AA" titles yesterday, while the junior Celtics got in on the action as well, taking the 12th straight "AA" title by a D10 school (either Lourdes or Bishop Mac) yesterday in Owen Sound.
The senior Celtics actually had some of their biggest tests in years at the event. In the semifinals, the Celts topped Delhi DSS, 49-37, before besting Cambridge Southwood by a 50-34 score in the final.
Southwood toppled the host St. Mary's Mustangs, 40-27, in the other senior semifinal.
The Celtics will advance to "AA" OFSAA, which is being played in Kingsville this year.
On the junior side, though, the Celts were as dominant as ever.
After giving up 4 points in each of their first two games on Wednesday, Bishop Mac knocked off Simcoe 42-8 before beating Glenview Park 48-15 in the championship final.
Glenview Park used a 15-2 fourth quarter run to upend Paris DHS, 31-27.
