JF Ross Takes Out Aquinas, Ending CWOSSA AAAA Drought

The Ross Royals got behind early, but stayed the course and pulled out a 63-58 victory over the hometown London St. Thomas Aquinas Flames in AAAA OFSAA action in London this evening.

The game featured the #17 Royals and #15 Flames in a "qualifying game" to get the right to advance through to tomorrow's "round of 16".  The treat for the winner?  Just a date with the #2 J. Clarke Richardson (Ajax) Storm, who demolished #11 Fletcher's Meadow 71-51 earlier today.

Back to this evening's contest, the Royals actually trailed in every quarter but the final one.  They sliced a 7-point halftime deficit to one entering the fourth, and strong play from Evan Karl (14) and Shamlo Saeed (12) helped Ross pull out the win.

The win was the first for CWOSSA at OFSAA "AAAA" in two years, with the last one being SJAM's first round win over Notre Dame Ajax in 2009.
