The St. Mary's Eagles (8-0) will take on the Resurrection Phoenix (6-1) in the marquee matchup on today's District 8 schedule.
With the Eagles having won by 3 points (51-48) in their first meeting, the Eagles need only a win or a loss by 1 or 2 points to essentially secure first place in the standings ---- barring, of course, a monumental upset at the hands of Monsignor Doyle in their final regular season game.
Again, I'm not sure exactly what the two coaching staffs will elect to show in this game (with a possible meeting in the finals down the road); expect a lot of straight man-to-man defense but that's not to say there won't be some good basketball played.
Of note, Rez will be a little thinner up front as they'll be without the services of 6th man Stephen Cordle in this one.
That said, I don't think it will be of extreme significance as the Eagles are playing very well right now. I'll take St. Mary's by 8 in this one.
