The SJAM Highlanders, WCI Vikings and the Guelph Centennial Spartans are headed to London today to participate in the annual Forest City Shootout tournament.
The tournament is interesting in that it is a 24-team draw, with the top 8 "seeds" receiving byes to the second round. SJAM, despite a league loss to WCI and a recent tournament loss to Centennial, have been seeded ahead of both of those teams at #6, while WCI and CCVI are unranked. The seeded teams are:
#1 - Henry Carr (Toronto)
#2 - Mother Teresa (Scarborough)
#3 - HB Beal (London)
#4 - Herman (Windsor)
#5 - Sarnia Northern
#6 - SJAM (Waterloo)
#7 - London Banting
#7 - London Banting
#8 - Richview (Toronto)
The Vikes are matched up against Chatham Urusline in their first game (would play #1 Henry Carr with a win), while the Spartans take on London's Pope John Paul II (playing #3 Beal with a win).
