
Peninsula Shores opened in 2006, replacing Wiarton DSS. Neither school had tasted CWOSSA basketball victory until yesterday afternoon.
The Phoenix took care of Kitchener Rockway, 35-23, in the first semifinal while Kincardine toppled Valley Heights by a 57-13 score.
On the senior side, Kincardine DSS, who dropped down to "A" classification this year, took their first CWOSSA title home in eleven years (2003 - "AA") with a 32-24 win over three-time defending champion Walkerton DCS.
The Knights will advance to "A" OFSAA which is being played in the Cornwall area.
Semifinals earlier on Thursday saw Kincardine defeat Waterford 35-11, and Walkerton edge Woodland Christian, 27-22.
