WCSSAA Senior: Top Teams Continue To Roll

The top clubs in the WCSSAA Senior circuit continued to roll on Tuesday afternoon, with all 4 clubs that entered play at 6-0 or 5-1 posting "comfortable" wins.

Here's how the action shook down:

Cameron Heights 61, WODSS 35
My Pick:  CHCI
No trouble for the Gaels in advance of the East Side Mario's Tournament as they post a comfortable win at home, thanks to four players in double figures --- Vedran Dmitrovic (11), Nem Simic (10), Nebojsa Djeric (10) and Stefan Cucak (10).  Chris Thomson had 9 and Nick Mehring 5 for the Crusaders.

Forest Heights 69, Southwood 39
My Pick:  FHCI
I thought that SSS might keep this one a bit closer than they did, but the Trojans rolled here.  Javon Masters had yet another 20+ effort with 22 points, while Kieran McAndrew netted 15.  For Southwood, Greg Marjerrison had 12 and Josh Parsons scored 10.

Eastwood 58, Galt 47
My Pick:  GCI
After their close game against FHCI, I had to go with the Ghosts but it was Eastwood that came away with the win.  Gondor Teny (12) and Djordje Govedarica (12) led a balanced Rebel attack, while Tyler Audet had a game-high 13 for Galt.  Leon Vilayseng added 11 more for GCI.

Grand River 64, KCI 57
My Pick:  GRCI
In a battle of 4-2 clubs, the Rens picked up an important win thanks to strong guard scoring --- 19 from Osama Qahwash and 12 from Brodi Verbiski.  Alex Galea had 15 and Lazar Dabic 14 for the Raiders.

Bluevale 62, Preston 15
My Pick:  BCI
The Knights smothered the Panthers on defense and cruised to a big win on Thursday.  Stefan Cvrkalj wasn't needed too much in this one, but still led Bluevale with 14 points; Perrin Smith added 13.  Rookie Wes Meertens had 6 for Preston.

SJAM 77, Huron Heights 58
My Pick:  SJAM
Two teams that love to get up and down and put up some points, and the score definitely reflects that.  Also, both team's star players had solid efforts ---  Ben Reyhani scored a season-high 37 for SJAM, and Sean Samuel had 27 for Huron.

WCI 65, Glenview Park 23
My Pick:  WCI
The Vikes used their solid defense to post an important win at home over Glenview.  Jacob Ranton (16) led the way while 2 other rookies --- Adam Anagnostopoulos (10) and Zack Totzke (10) were also in double figures for WCI.  Trevor Blunt and Winston Karges scored 5 each for Glenview.
