With another solid week last week, the KCI Raiders have wrapped up top spot in the WCSSAA Junior Girls' basketball league.
The Raiders (11-0) have a one-game lead over the only one loss team in the circuit, the Galt Ghosts (10-1) -- but the Raiders do have a head-to-head victory over the Ghosts if KCI was to drop their regular-season finale to Waterloo-Oxford (8-3) tonight.
SJAM (9-2) has clinched a first-round bye, while the other bye will go to either Southwood, Waterloo-Oxford (both 8-3) or Grand River (7-4) -- although the Rens would need both Southwood and Waterloo-Oxford to lose to have a shot. As it stands right now, WODSS owns the tiebreak over Southwood based upon their head-to-head win, but if all finished with an identical record there wouldn't be a clear tiebreak (GRCI beat WODSS, lost to SSS; all 3 would be 1-1 H2H).
Bluevale and Forest Heights (both 6-5) will host first-round qualifying playoff games as those teams have a 3-game lead over 9th place (EDSS & HHSS tied at 3-7).
The battle for the final playoff berths takes an interesting turn with the lowest four teams all matching up against each other. Glenview Park (2-9) plays Jacob Hespeler (1-10) while WCI (1-10) battles Cameron Heights (1-10).
