I had mentioned in my playoff preview last week how Galt's Beth Fleming was one of the players who can take over a game in the playoffs.
I certainly wasn't expecting Fleming to post a 36-point effort last Thursday, outscoring the entire Glenview Park team in a 44-35 victory for the Ghosts.
The game was also significant as both teams were in the running for WCSSAA's "AA" CWOSSA berth. With the win, the Ghosts will be the representative.
Preston (#6) got all they could handle (as perhaps expected) from #11 Elmira but advanced with a 26-22 win. PHS' Brooke Davidson was the lone player in double-figures with 10.
Grand River (#7) advanced 58-30 over Huron Heights, backed by a 21-point effort from Nancy Michael.
#5 Bluevale cruised past #12 Cameron Heights, 58-18. Maddy Weber of the Knights led all scorers with 15.
Those results set up the following QF games tomorrow (all at 3:15pm except the BCI/SJAM game, which is a 4:45pm tip):
(8) Galt at (1) Jacob Hespeler
(7) Grand River at (2) WODSS
(6) Preston at (3) WCI
(5) Bluevale at (4) SJAM
