D10 Thursday Results: Junior Gaels Take Sole Possession of First With Win Over Celts

Junior
The Guelph CVI Gaels are for real.

GCVI avenged an early-season loss to Bishop Mac by going on the road and handling the Celts by a 34-25 final.  Sydney Wilson (14) and Ijeoma Staunton (12) led the way for the Gaels, while Hannah Kendall and Jessica Burkle had 8 each for the Gaels.

The win moved GCVI into sole possession of first place in the D10 standings (7-1), while Bishop Mac drops to 6-2.

JF Ross 36, Lourdes 35
My Pick:  OLOL by 7
This one certainly could have gone either way, and the Royals pick up a big-win, although Lourdes still holds the +/- tiebreak.  Sydney Resch had 12 and Teddi Taran 6 for JFR; Monica Trimble (10) and Victoria Brombal (9) led the way for Lourdes.

Centre Wellington 34, Orangeville 27
My Pick:  CWDHS by 22
The Bears certainly match-up well with the Falcons, and turned this game into another defensive slugfest.  Hailey Salvian had 14 and Evelyn Burgess 9 to pace CW to victory, while Evelyn Burgess had 10 and Claire Fenton 9 for ODSS.

St. James 45, Centennial 32
My Pick:  STJ by 24
No Chelsey Gazzola, but no problem for St. James as Ashley Benham (22) and Brittany Gazzola (12) were both in double figures.  Kendra Achonwa had 10 and Hannah Newman 7 for the Spartans.

Bishop Mac 52, Guelph CVI 31
My Pick:  BMAC by 26
Andrea Priamo and Rebecca Morris had 10 each for the Celtics, as they stayed perfect on the season.  Cally Strongman led the Gaels with 10 of her own.
