OSCVI Falcons Take EastSide Shootout; Senior Falcons Play in Collingwood

Jason McMullin scored 16 points to lead the host OSCVI Falcons to a 57-55 overtime victory over the Collingwood Collegiate Owls in the championship final of the EastSide Shootout junior boys basketball tournament Saturday.

MacKenzie Fraser added 13 points while Drew Quinlan hooped 11.

The Falcons beat Goderich District 54-19 in the semifinal with Quinlin scoring 13 points and Braden Caswell adding 10.

Collingwood earned a spot in the final with a 39-30 win over Walkerton's Sacred Heart Crusaders. Sacred Heart also beat West Hill 54-19 Saturday. Wayland Wilson had five points for the Raiders.

In the consolation final, the Saugeen District Royals fell 55-24 to Orangeville Westside. Zach Murawsky had nine points for the Royals who also beat Meaford's Georgian Bay Vikings 59-30. Murawsky scored 25 points for Saugeen, while Thomas Goodwin added 12. Colin Robertson and Trent Harvey both had eight points for the Vikings.

Georgian Bay also fell 54-19 to the Walkerton District Raiders. Robertson led the Vikings with nine points, while the Raiders got 14 from Coulton Fischer and 12 from Calvin Robinson.

The St. Mary's Mustangs went 1-1 Saturday with a 40-27 win over Goderich District. Savick Basra had 26 points for the Mustangs who also fell 50-21 to Orangeville Westside.


Senior - OSCVI @ Collingwood Tournament

The OSCVI Falcons beat North Bay's Chippewa Secondary School 58-46 Saturday in the consolation game at a senior boys basketball tournament.

Ben Singbeil scored 18 points for the Falcons, while Curtis Gibbons added nine.

OSCVI was relegated to the consolation game following a 51-49 loss to Sarnia's St. Clair in the quarterfinals. Matt Monk had 18 points in that game, while Singbeil chipped in 11.
