D8: Wednesday Results

Senior

Monsignor Doyle 68, Rockway 62
My Pick:  MDCSS
Manny Singh poured in 20 and Uzhair Khan added 17 as the 'Stangs picked up an important road win on Wednesday.  Steve Veltri had an impressive performance for Rockway, netting 27 points, while teammate Alex Sheedy had 14.  

St. Mary's 89, St. David 24
My Pick:  SMHS
The Eagles aren't playing around as they enter the 2nd half of the season with an emphatic home win.  Alex Thompson (19) and Adam Voll (16) led the way for the Eagles, while Jake Winter had 7 for the Celts.

Junior

St. Mary's 57, St. David 43
The Celtics came a bit closer in their second try at St. Mary's in a game that most are projecting as the likely D8 final.  Mike Blumel had a game-high 23 for SMHS, with Bronson Bothelo adding 9.  DaShaun Lalor (18) and James McBride (15) did the bulk of the damage for the Celtics.

St. Benedict 63, Woodland CHS 20
The Saints continue to stay in solid playoff positioning with a blowout win at home over the Cavs.  Aaron Zammit had 17 for the Saints with Khiem Tran adding 8; Nathan Timmerman had 15 for Woodland with Shane Clark adding 4.

Monsignor Doyle 46, Rockway 36
The 'Stangs pick up another win at the expense of the Rockway Flames.  Matt Steinman had 9 for the Flames; Ryan Stafford netted 7 for MDCSS.
