A big effort by Josh McEachern propelled the #9 Centre Wellington Falcons to a 44-43 upset win over the #1 ranked Grand River Renegades in the semifinals of the Purple and Gold junior basketball tournament at Resurrection CSS this afternoon.
McEachern finished with 17 points, while James Scott netted 6 more for CW. Jamal Murray had a game-high 21 for the Renegades, while Murtada Khamis had 11.

The consolation semifinals saw St. David get past St. Benedict 63-48 and Assumption turn a 4-point fourth quarter deficit into a 62-52 win against Resurrection.
