WCI lost to four Arizona schools ---- Tempe Corona Del Sol (72-36), Phoenix Pinnacle HS (70-42), Gilbert Christian (74-59) and Mesa Red Mountain HS (68-54) during their trip.
To be fair, the results were not unexpected given the calibre of competition. Corona Del Sol is ranked as the #2 team in the state of Arizona, while Phoenix Pinnacle is also a top-5 team in the state.
Gilbert Christian (#28 ranked) and Red Mountain (#18 ranked) are also highly regarded teams in the state rankings, according to the MaxPreps.com website.
Off the court, I'm told that the team had an enjoyable vacation as they visited the Grand Canyon and some also took in the Buffalo Wild Wings NCAA Bowl game (Michigan State vs. TCU) during their visit.
