This year's senior squad at Grand River Collegiate got their season off to a strong start, taking home the title of the Georgetown DHS invitational tournament.The tournament was a 4-team round-robin event, and the Renegades registered a perfect 3-0 record.
On Friday, Grand River defeated Newmarket Sacred Heart (47-29). They came back on Saturday with wins over Brampton Notre Dame (42-24) and host Georgetown (39-25).
The Rens feature a plethora of talent that has moved up from their strong junior squads of the past couple of seasons, including Maya Day, Nyamuoch Teny, and Tara DeBoer.
