D10: Top Three Seeds Advance Through in Junior and Senior

The "top three" seeds in both the junior and senior D10 leagues had no trouble moving on to Thursday's semifinals --- in fact, all 6 games weren't really close with the closest margin of victory being (#3) Bishop Mac's 19 point win over #6 JF Ross in the junior division.

Here's how things shook down, starting in senior:

Senior
Top-seeded Centre Wellington received 21 points from Jaime Janssen and 16 more from Erica McFadden en route to a 60-21 win over #8 Orangeville, a win that also qualifies them for "AAAA" CWOSSA.  Claire Fenton and Becca Matheson had 5 each for the Bears.
JF Ross will be the other "AAAA" representative from the D10 after handling #6 Guelph CVI 52-31.  Back at (seemingly) 100%, Sydney Resch had a great game with 18 points while Julia Robertson had 9.  Hanna Chidwich had 10 and Sidney Vaughan 8 for the Gaels.

The "AA" spot, meanwhile is still up for grabs as both Lourdes and Bishop Mac pulled wins on Tuesday.  Lourdes snuck past #4 St. James 45-43, backed by a balanced scoring effort (Victoria Brombal 9, Hannah Pearsall 8).  Ashley Benham poured in 20 for the Lions, while Brittany Gazzola added 12.

In the other quarterfinal game on Tuesday, Tesha Kraszkiewicz poured in 22 points and Andrea Priamo added 12 more as the #2 Bishop Mac Celtics rolled #7 Centennial 59-28.  Kendra Achonwa had 9 and Hannah Ferguson 8 for the Spartans.

Semifinals - Thursday
(1) CWDHS vs (5) Lourdes
(2) Bishop Mac vs (3) JF Ross

Junior
The #5 Centennial Spartans will be the #1 "AAAA" qualifier from the D10 league as they beat #4 CWDHS 45-38, backed by a solid 23-point outing from Emma Cain.  Hannah Newman added 11, while Kristen Gora (10) and Chloe Trapp (9) had the top efforts for CW.

#1 St. James cruised past #8 Orangeville 42-19, backed by 9 each from Donna Zen and Julia Toscan.  Rachel Adams had 7 and Felicia Light 4 for the Bears.

Lourdes, the second-seeded squad, got past #7 Guelph CVI 51-31.  Monica Trimble (16) and Erin Gerstenkorn (15) were the top Lourdes performers, while Cally Strongman had 15 and Sydney Wilson 9 for GCVI.

Lastly, Bishop Mac (#3) pulled out a 53-34 win over JF Ross.  Jessica Morris and Mackenzie Bernhardt had 15 each in the win for the Celtics, while Steph Gordon had a game-high 16 for the Royals.

Thursday's Semifinals
(1) St. James vs. (5) Centennial
