A couple of exhibition games were played over the weekend, with several senior boys' teams getting ready for the upcoming season.
The Lourdes Crusaders, the favourites entering the season to repeat at the "AA" CWOSSA level, defeated Cambridge St. Benedict by a 45-38 final.
Meanwhile, at Resurrection, the Phoenix opened up the game on a 36-8 run before coasting to a 62-28 win over Waterloo SJAM. Both teams were hit by the injury bug and each had a couple players out, although the 'Landers injuries were definitely more significant (Theshawn Berry & Quinn Turner).
The aforementioned Lourdes Crusaders are also interested in hearing from any senior coaches interested in an exhibition game this week (they are willing host or travel). Interested parties can contact Coach O'Rourke --- mo'rourke (at) wellingtoncsb.ca.
