WCSSAA Junior Final: WODSS 48, WCI 25

**Video Highlights to Come**

Mission accomplished.

As many expected, the Waterloo-Oxford Crusaders took care of the WCI Vikings by a 48-25 final on Wednesday evening in Cambridge.

The Crusaders, who led 20-11 at halftime, used a 13-0 run to start the third quarter to seize control of the game and didn't look back.

W-O had a raucous group of staff, parents, and supporters in attendance and the undefeated school from Baden fed off of that energy throughout the game.

Leading the way on this night for the Crusaders were Madison Horst, who sliced-and-diced her way to a 20-point effort.  Kyla Burrough netted 11 (and 15 rebounds), and Alisha Glendinning added 10 (and 11 rebounds).

Both Rebecca Payne (5 points) and Tess Pettigrew (2) also provided solid ball-handling and defensive pressure, ensuring that no WCSSAA team would crack the 30+ mark against W-O this season.

On the flip side, things aren't all bad for WCI.  They actually have 11 grade 9's on their roster, including 4 of their starters ---- so watch out for this group next year.

They were led on Wednesday by one of those grade nines, Kaylee Anagnostopoulos, who pumped home 16 points in the loss.  Olivia Bender added 5, while Brittany Scarrow and Isabella Kellerman (2 each) rounded out the WCI scoring.

Waterloo-Oxford has been announced as the #1 seed for the 8-team "AAA" CWOSSA tournament, while WCI will be participating in a pool with Resurrection and Centre Wellington as the #1 WCSSAA school at "AAAA" CWOSSA.
