D4: Thunder, Other Favourites Advance Through To Finals

Senior

The top-seeded (and undefeated) Westside Thunder cruised through to Wednesday's D4 final with a 51-25 over the #4 Erin Raiders.  Jenna Gomes had (16) for Westside, while Pier Zuk also netted 16 for the Raiders.

The other game came down to the wire as the #2 Centre Dufferin Royals escaped with a hard fought 39-35 win over #3 Wellington Heights.  Rachel Krushnisky again led the way for the Royals with 15, who also needed strong efforts from Gen Potovszky (7) and Hailey Reusch (7) in the win.  Stacey Harper had 13 and Becky Harper 10 for the Wolverines.

Junior

The top seeded Norwell Redmen received 15 from Laura Rumph and 14 from Laura Roth en route to a 42-25 win over the #4 Westside Thunder.  Brittney Davad had 10 for Westside.

Wellington Heights (#2) posted a 39-23 win over Centre Dufferin, backed by a massive 23-point effort from Nicole Bauman.

Those wins set up a key finals matchup between Norwell and Wellington Heights.  The winner of this rivalry game gets not only the D4 title, but also an "AA" CWOSSA spot.
