WCSSAA: Slow Start to 2013-14 Picks

YTD:  14-4 (.777)

It's certainly been a slow start to the 2013-14 WCSSAA Picks column, as I currently sit on the underside of the 80% success rate, which is where I (at least) would like to be.

I'll need a perfect 6-for-6 today to get back above that mark, so here goes:

Forest Hts. (1-2) at Huron Hts. (2-1)
My Pick:  HHSS by 11
In a battle of two "Heights", I'll go with Huron to take the victory here at home.

Bluevale (2-1) at WCI (2-1)
My Pick:  WCI by 13
Battle (or is it Spirit?) of Waterloo game here; both teams suffered disappointing losses last Thursday but I think it will be the Vikes who get back on track here today.

Jacob Hespeler (0-2) at Galt (1-2)
My Pick:  GCI by 22
It'll be a rebuilding year for Jacob Hespeler --- and they're off to a slow start given the success of their fall sports teams (extended playoff seasons).  Look for the Ghosts to take advantage of that today.

Cameron Heights (3-0) at Eastwood (3-0)
My Pick:  CHCI by 24
A battle of "3-0" teams here --- although Eastwood is the only WCSSAA team who has actually won three games (others getting the benefit of bye wins against EDSS/WODSS).  The Gaels have looked really strong and should be able to add the Rebels to their list of double-digit WCSSAA wins.

Preston (0-3) at KCI (2-1)
My Pick:  KCI by 16
The KCI Raiders --- along with the Galt Ghosts --- look like the two teams that will be the ones to knock off for the "AAA" CWOSSA berths this year in WCSSAA.  Look for them to get the win at home today against Preston.

Grand River (2-0) at SJAM (2-1)
My Pick:  GRCI by 9
I look for the Highlanders to shake off last week's performance against Cameron, but I like the Rens in what could/should be the tightest game of the day.
