D8: Monday Games and Picks

Back to league play today with 2 afternoon matchups in both junior and senior D8 leagues.  Here's a quick look at the D8 games:

St. Mary's (1-0) at Resurrection (1-0), 5:00pm
Pick:  SMHS

Should be a good game between the two clubs that most expect will battle for the D8's "AAAA" CWOSSA berth.  The Eagles are coming off a tough tournament loss to Centre Wellington in a tournament final this past weekend ---- although Kaitlyn Schenck did not play in that contest.  She should be back in the lineup tonight for the Eagles.  Assuming she's back to 100%, I like the Eagles to take a road win here.

St. Benedict (0-1) at Rockway (0-1), 5:30pm
Pick:  SBCSS

Both clubs have an opportunity for their first win after each being dumped by the St. David Celtics last week.  At this point in the season, the Saints have the edge and should improve to 1-1.

Junior Games

St. Mary's (0-1) at Resurrection (1-0), 3:30pm.
Pick:  RCSS

The Phoenix are coming off an impressive weekend tournament, with wins over WCI and Cameron Heights.  The Eagles on the other hand, lost to Doyle last week (a team that Rez beat in their opener by 30).  The stats and trends point to Rez.


St. Benedict (1-0) at Rockway (0-1), 4:00pm
Pick:  SBCSS

The St. Benedict Saints took their first steps towards a possible D8 championship last week with a 43-13 thrashing of St. David.  Look for a similar result here as they should move to 2-0.
