The Bishop Macdonell Celtics pulled a big upset at the Silver Fox Tournament in Hamilton on Wednesday, knocking off Hamilton's ACMT, who have been ranked by various sources as a "top 10 team" in the province this season.
The Celtics put home a lay-in at the buzzer for a thrilling 65-64 win, that advanced them to the semifinals against top-seeded Holy Trinity of Oakville.
This came after also beating Burlington Notre Dame at the buzzer in a 59-56 morning win (Michael Ganson, 16).
Despite another solid effort in the semifinals, the Celtics ended up on the short end of a 68-55 game. Mitchell Wood had 15 for the Celtics while Trevon McNeil led the Titans with 24.
