WCSSAA: Tuesday Games & Picks

Senior Picks Record:  19-3 (.864)

Bluevale (3-0) at WCI (3-0)
Pick:  WCI

Though the Knights have started 3-0, things get a whole lot tougher for them this week, starting with the WCI Vikings.  Apparently, BCI star forward Elissa Dent won't be in the lineup so look for the Vikes to roll here.

Southwood (1-2) at Jacob Hespeler (1-2)
Pick:  SSS

An all-Cambridge battle here between two teams that could definitely use a win.  I'll go with the Sabres here.

Forest Heights (0-3) at Elmira (1-2)
Pick:  FHCI

Thanks to a commenter, we can tell you that all-star Lydia Frey will be missing this game with her ankle injury, which is huge (though others, like Kaitie Martin, did step up in her absence).  Forest Heights isn't necessarily as bad as their 0-3 record and if Blair McNaughton gets hot, they should be able to squeak by Elmira on the road.

Preston (1-2) at Glenview Park (0-3)
Pick:  PHS

Look for the Panthers to beat the.......er, Panthers.  Translation:  Preston to win.

WODSS (1-2) at Galt (2-1)
Pick:  GCI

A dangerous game for the Ghosts, especially with KCI looming on Thursday.  I don't think they'll overlook the Crusaders at home though, and they should get the win here.

Cameron Heights (3-0) at Eastwood (3-0)
Pick:  CHCI

Should be a great game between two rivals (5:00pm).  Michelle Hudyn is off to a great start for Eastwood, and they're getting some solid performances from Caitlyn Schlegel as well.  That said, Cameron Heights has 4 solid offensive options, and any of them can step up on any given day.  That balance is the reason I'm taking the Gaels on the road today.

Grand River (0-3) at SJAM (2-1)
Pick:  GRCI

Probably closer than the records would indicate --- especially considering GRCI has played WCI, KCI and Galt to start the year; those teams are a combined 8-1.  I'm hoping that the Rens have more than 6 players for this one (like they did against KCI); if they do, I'll take them to win here, otherwise, look for SJAM to get the "W" at home.

KCI:  Bye Win (vs. HHHS)

Junior Games (all 3:30pm)
KCI (2-1) at Huron Heights (1-1)
Grand River (3-0) at SJAM (0-3)
Cameron Heights (2-1) at Eastwood (1-2)
Bluevale (3-0) at WCI (0-3)
WODSS (2-1) at Galt (0-3)
Preston (2-1) at Glenview Park (1-2)
Forest Heights (0-3) at Elmira (2-0)
Southwood (1-2) at Jacob Hespeler (3-0)

Too bad you didn't know. Lydia Frey injured her ankle and won't be playing. Forest will win.

Bluevale will get smoked. Elissa Dent is also out with an ankle.

    I hate ankles..

  2. Thanks anon for the injury updates.

.....seeing as it's before gametime, I'll change my pick to the Trojans. I don't think FHCI will run away with it though and if EDSS can hang around perhaps they can pull one out late.

It will be tougher without Lydia though, that is for sure.

Should have stuck with your Elmira pick. I thought Forest would have won for sure. I expected Jocelyn Keeso to have a big game.
