Southwood Shootout: Dmitrovic Free Throw Wins it For Cameron

In an exhilarating championship final, the Cameron Heights Golden Gaels (playing without guard Nem Simic) defeated the St. Thomas Aquinas (London) Flames 57-56 on a free-throw by Vedran Dmitrovic with no time remaining on the game clock.

The Gaels were able to overcome a double-digit 4th quarter deficit and a 33-point effort by STA star Colin Mandich in the process.  Dmitrovic (21) and Jason Thompson (18) led the way for the Gaels.

The Gaels defeated Centre Wellington (Fergus) 54-39 in the semifinals, while St. Thomas Aquinas took out St. Christopher (Sarnia) by a 66-49 final.

On the consolation side of the bracket, the Centre Dufferin Royals got strong scoring and rebounding efforts in the championship finals from Marco and Carlo Zanette en route to a 54-42 win over the St. Benedict Saints.  Guard Santo Dak netted a game-high 20 points for the Saints. 

Centre Dufferin rolled Brantford CI 68-32 in one consolation semifinal while SBCSS took out London South 65-58 in the other.

The tournament all-star team was announced as follows:
