WCSSAA Junior: Tuesday Results

A couple of games on Tuesday featured match-ups between teams expected to compete for a top-4 spot (and home quarterfinal game).

In one of them, the Cameron Heights Golden Gaels slipped past the Eastwood Rebels 47-42 at ECI.  Junior Bradford had 12 and Sasha Simic 10 in the win; Sydney Stewart had a game-high 18 for the Rebs with Izzy Nemeth adding 10.

The other game saw the Grand River Renegades use a third-quarter run to get past the SJAM Highlanders in a 57-53 final.  Jamal Murray continued his solid play with a 28-point effort, while Murtada Khamis added 8.  Edim Hodzic had 12 and Brett Parrot 9 for the 'Landers.

Other results from Tuesday:

WCI 45, Bluevale 27
No trouble for the Vikes as they bounce back from a loss last week to SJAM.  The Vikes got contributions up-and-down the roster in this one, with Nikola Despotovic (8) leading the way.  DJ McIlwraith had 10 and Jamal John 6 for the Knights.

Forest Heights 45, WODSS 27
Ryan Hagey had 10 and Dylan Floyd (PRDG transfer who played senior with the Chevaliers last year as they didn't have a junior team) netted 9 as the Trojans picked up another win on Tuesday.  Garner Matthews had 9 and Paul Schroeder 6 for the Crusaders.

Elmira 31, Southwood 28
The Lancers sneak past Southwood at home, thanks to 12 from Jordan Frey and 9 more by Scott Carere.  Garret Jewell led the Sabres with 9.

Galt 42, Jacob Hespeler 31
The Ghosts continue their strong play, thanks to 12 from TJ Lall and 11 by Abraar Unia.  Ethan Rudd had 8 and Matt Sleeper 7 for the Hawks.

Preston 53, KCI 46
Tight game in Preston goes the way of the Panthers, with Tanner Derjugin pouring in 21 and Tyler Gibner adding 11.  Stefan Simic had a game-high 25 for the Raiders, with Marko Milovanovic adding 9.
