There's a full slate of action following the long weekend today. Here are my selections:
WCSSAA (29-5 YTD)
Cameron Heights (5-0) at Jacob Hespeler (4-1)
My Pick: CHCI by 7
The Hawks are tough, especially at home, so it won't be easy for CHCI to continue their unblemished record; I like them in a tight game.
Waterloo CI (3-1) at Glenview Park (1-4)
My Pick: WCI by 24
The Vikes should be able to get past the Panthers on the road here today.
Forest Heights (0-5) at Eastwood (0-4)
My Pick: FHCI by 5
The Trojans got a bit more on track offensively in their latest game, a 37-35 loss to GPSS. I think they can pick up their first win here today, but it should be close.
Elmira (2-2) at Galt (2-3)
My Pick: EDSS by 6
The Lancers, led by the inside-outside combo of Karley Sider and Nicole Cressman, are my pick in what should be another tight game in WCSSAA play today.
KCI (1-4) at Waterloo-Oxford (1-4)
My Pick: KCI by 16
The Raiders are probably better than their record would indicate and I like them to pick up a win in Baden this afternoon.
Preston (2-2) at Grand River (4-1)
My Pick: GRCI by 18
The Rens had a tough week last week, being taken to overtime at Bluevale and then losing at Cameron Heights. They're a tougher out at home, and should be able to handle Preston there.
Huron Hts. (3-2) at Bluevale (2-2)
My Pick: BCI by 12
This will be a big game for playoff positioning; I think the Knights are well positioned to grab another win.
D10 (11-3 YTD)
Centennial (2-3) at Orangeville (1-4)
My Pick: CCVI by 17
The Spartans should be able to solidify their grasp on 4th place through the opening "round robin" portion of the schedule with a win here today.
Centre Wellington (1-4) at Bishop Mac (4-1)
My Pick: BMAC by 26
The Celts have been playing well as of late, and I look for that trend to continue here today at home.
Guelph CVI (4-1) at JF Ross (5-0)
My Pick: JFR by 12
The Royals may be tested by the GCVI Gaels today, as the Gaels have several viable scoring options. That said, I look for JF Ross to be ahead at the end.
