Cvrkalj keys Bluevale's Heinbuch Win
After going 0-2 to start at the Heinbuch, CWOSSA teams rallied for victories in the late games at St. Mary's High School yesterday evening.
Firstly, the SJAM Highlanders of Waterloo, despite missing several players at OFSAA volleyball (including WCSSAA all-star Jake Robinet), came back from 12 points down in the 4th quarter to defeat London Westminster 48-46.
Mark Bryson's Record article today has the Highlanders losing to Westminster 48-43! Just so you know when you see two different game results.
However, the night was just getting started. I was hoping to make it out to the Bluevale/Beal game, and looks like I missed a dandy.
Stefan Cvrkalj banked home a tying buzzer-beater from midcourt as the Knights rallied from a nine point fourth quarter deficit. After a second overtime period (by which time Beal's entire starting lineup had fouled out), Bluevale came away with an 81-73 victory. Cvrkalj scored 37 points in the victory, the 5th highest total in any Heinbuch Classic game.

Resurrection Round Robin Tourney on the Go
The annual "Resurrection Phoenix Early-Bird Round Robin" junior boys basketball tournament is under way at Resurrection CSS in Kitchener.
The tournament, which usually features only local clubs, has 3 WCSSAA schools (Bluevale, Cameron Heights, Huron Heights) and 2 D8 schools (St. David & Resurrection) competing this year.
As one would surmise, each team will play each other during the tournament, which wraps up tomorrow morning.
