St. John's Eagles are Senior Girls "AAAA" OFSAA Champions

The St. John's Green Eagles have done it.

The girls from Brantford lived up to their #1 seeding by capturing the OFSAA championship on Saturday evening at Cathedral High School with a 41-37 victory over Burlington Notre Dame.

The Eagles finish the year with a 45-0 record and, obviously, Branford, CWOSSA and now OFSAA titles to their credit.

In the title game, Kelly Van Leeuwen and Andrea Polischuk were the top scorers for St. John's with 10 a piece. Jamie Ruttle led Notre Dame and all scorers with a 17 point performance.

Earlier at Cathedral, Waterloo Collegiate captured the consolation bracket with a 41-30 victory over #11 Northern SS of Toronto. Alyssa Shortt (15) and Megan Fowler (11) were high scorers for the Vikes.

Centennial Falls at Heinbuch
CWOSSA was unable to capture any titles on championship Saturday at the Heinbuch.

The Centennial CVI Spartans were defeated by London's HB Beal in the bronze championship by a 65-52 score. Rob House was again the top scorer for Centennial with 16 points in the losing effort.

Final CWOSSA Results:
Centennial 2-2 (lost bronze final)
Bluevale 1-2 (lost silver semifinals)
SJAM 1-2 (eliminated silver semifinals)
KCI 0-3 (lost consolation semifinals)
St. David 0-3 (lost consolation semifinals)
