WCI upset, St. John's Cruises at "AAAA" in Hamilton

Lindsay Taylor scored 13 and Shelby Kurt added 8 points but it wasn't enough for the 3rd seeded Waterloo CI Vikings at the "AAAA" OFSAA Championships in Hamilton as they fell to the 9th seed, London's Pope John Paul II by a 54-51 final. The Carriere sisters, Danielle (15) and Katelyn (14) set the pace for the Jaguars.

Brantford St. John's, the #1 seed in the tourney, had no trouble with #11 Toronto Northern. They jumped to a 28-11 halftime lead and cruised to a 52-24 final. The Eagles' balanced attack featured Arielle Mendoza leading the way with 11, while Kelly VanLeeuwen and Rachel Cleary contributed 9 each.

This means that if St. John's and WCI both win their next game, the teams would then meet in the quarterfinals in what would be a rematch of last weekend's CWOSSA championship game --- at least guaranteeing a CWOSSA medal.
