One day after losing a league game to the 1-8 GCVI Gaels, the JF Ross Royals went out on Friday afternoon and defeated the CWOSSA #5 St. John's Green Eagles by a 61-55 final.
The game was close throughout, and back and forth through the mid-to-late stages of the fourth quarter. Down the stretch, some great drives by Nick Maule and poor free throw shooting by the Eagles (43% for the game) allowed the Royals to grab a slim lead, which they never relinquished.
The Royals were led by Maule's 22 points, while Cam Post had 14 for St. John's.
