WCSSAA Junior: Thursday Results

Waterloo-Oxford 45, Glenview Park 19
The Crusaders pick up a first win in this game between AAA schools, backed by 12 from Garner Matthews and 8 from Justin Wagler.  Tyler Bell had 6 and Tyrell Wolf 5 for Glenview.

Forest Heights 55, Huron Heights 48
Despite 21 points from HHHS' Arshid Babury, the Trojans moved to 1-0 with the 7 point win.  Ryan Hagey netted 15 and Killy Cuppage 10 for FHCI; Ahmed Radi had 10 for Huron alongside Babury's 21.

Eastwood 51, Preston 23
Scoring details were unavailable - but early word is that the Rebels should be one of the top 4 teams in the league.

Cameron Heights 64, KCI 39
Sasha Simic had 13 and Garrick Gray 10 for the Gaels as they look to return to the top of the league standings again this year.  Stefan Simic (15) and Marco Milovanovic (10) topped the Raider scoresheet.

Southwood 30, Bluevale 29
The Sabres nip the Knights at home, in a low-scoring affair.  Tristan Peacock had 9 and Steve Warner 8 in the win; DJ McIlwraith led the Knights with 7 points.

Grand River 66, Jacob Hespeler 37
The Rens, one of the preseason favourites, got off to a nice start on the road.  Murtada Khamis had 15 and Jamal Murray 11 in the win, while Hespeler received 13 from Matt Quiring and 7 from Brandon Roth.

SJAM 72, Galt 53
After a tough year last year, the Highlanders pick up a quick win to start the year.  Brett Parrott (22) had the WCSSAA junior boys' high on the day for SJAM, while Nedim Hodzic added 19.  TJ Lall (21) and Lazar Stevanovic (18) led the Galt scoring.

WCI 56, Elmira 18
Word is that the Vikes will be much improved this year, and they cruised past Elmira on Thursday.  Ivan Bilandzic had 14 and Etai Mizrahi 9 in the win.  Elmira had Jordan Frey lead the way with 6.
