AAAA: Field Is Set; "Pool of Death" Potential Exists

After Saturday's WCSSAA semifinals, the field has been set for this year's CWOSSA tournament hosted at JF Ross CVI in Guelph.

Of note, Ross has two full gyms, so it is my understanding that all pool games will be held at JFR.  Pretty neat from a spectator's perspective, as you will be able to go back and forth depending on which game (at that time slot) is more interesting.

In the junior ranks, Grand River, Eastwood, St. Mary's, Centre Wellington, JF Ross and St. John's will be the participants.

"Pool A" will feature the WCSSAA Champion, CWDHS, and St. Mary's.

"Pool B" will feature the WCSSAA Runner-Up, JF Ross, and St. John's.

Over in senior, SJAM, Forest Heights, St. Mary's, Centre Wellington, JF Ross and St. John's will be the 6 teams vying for the CWOSSA title.

"Pool A" will feature the WCSSAA Champion, St. Mary's, and JF Ross.

[Mark's note - should Forest Heights win on Wednesday, then you'd have the top 3 teams from my last power ranking all in the same CWOSSA pool!]

"Pool B" will be contested between the WCSSAA Runner-Up, Centre Wellington, and St. John's.

As per usual, the top two teams in each pool will play a "crossover semifinal" (i.e. 1st in A plays 2nd in B) on Saturday with the winners then advancing to Saturday evening's final.
