WCSSAA Junior: Vikes Lock up Top Spot with Win over Rens

In the key battle for top spot in the WCSSAA standings, the WCI Vikings used their balanced scoring attack to their advantage en route to a 64-56 win over the Grand River Renegades.

The win clinched top spot overall for the Vikes, who received 15 points from Ivan Bilandzic, 13 from Adam Carter and 13 more from Bojan Vincic.  Murtada Khamis (16) and David Bajic (12) were the top Renegade performers.

Grand River will be seeded #2 entering the WCSSAA playoffs, and will have a first round bye.

They will be joined on the sidelines for the qualifying round by the #3 Cameron Heights Golden Gaels, who clinched third spot overall with a 69-34 thrashing of Waterloo-Oxford.  Sasha Simic (15) and Chris Phomsouvanh (12) topped the Gael scoring, while Paul Schroeder had 14 and Garner Matthews 10 for the Crusaders.

TJ Lall poured in 28 points and Lazar Stevanovic added 15 as the Ghosts also secured (officially) a first-round bye with a 61-31 win over Southwood.  Colton Quigley had 8 and Sean Wyse 6 for the Sabres.
