Collingwood Senior Tournament: Falcons Take Consolation Title

The OSCVI Falcons captured the consolation championship at this weekend's Senior Boys Invitational hosted by Collingwood CVI.

The Falcons started out by losing to the eventual tournament champions, Twin Lakes (Orillia) 81-55 (OSCVI:  Jason McMullen 22, Kevin Bunn 18), but rebounded in their next outing to take out Kitchener Eastwood 54-40 (Bunn, 12).

In the consolation semifinal, OSCVI drilled St. Joan of Arc (Barrie) 54-33 (Zac Kemp, 18) and then went on to take the consolation title over Bracebridge 57-38 (Bunn, 25).

Several other CWOSSA teams also participated.  The aforementioned Eastwood Rebels dropped their first game to St. Theresa (Midland) before losing their second to OSCVI.  They picked up a win in their third game against Midland SS.

Centre Dufferin defeated Sarnia St. Clair in the first round, before dropping their second game to Barrie St. Joseph's (tournament finalists).  They would win their third and final outing against Midland St. Theresa.

Lastly, Walkerton's Sacred Heart dropped their opener to Collingwood before falling by 1 point to St. Joan of Arc (Barrie) in their second outing.  They would pick up a win, however, against Sarnia St. Clair in their third game of the tournament.
