D10 Junior: Crusaders Clip Spartans in 4/5 Game

The Lourdes Crusaders (#5) defeated the Centennial Spartans (#4) 41-33 in their quarterfinal game on Monday afternoon, a game that actually helped to solidify the CWOSSA picture in the D10 league.

We'll get to that in a second, but with regards to that contest, David Khayipangi had another tremendous effort for OLOL, pouring in 20; Alex Hudecki added 8.  Zaigham Ali (13) and Leighton Milne (8) topped the CCVI scoring.

Top-seeded JF Ross steamrolled winless Orangeville to the tune of 75-9.  Jeremy Morales and Vlad Vamanu had 10 each for Ross, while four Bears contributed a bucket each to lead the way.

St. James (#2) posted a comfortable 53-29 win over GCVI, thanks to 20 from Quinn Feeney and 10 by Joey Hasson.  Ian Suarez and Mac Riley netted 8 each for the Gaels.

The 3-6 matchup that I thought might be interesting certainly was, with CWDHS escaping with a 56-54 win over Bishop Mac.  Both teams' top scorers had big efforts, as Josh McEachern (CWDHS) netting 31 and Michael Ganson (BMac) pouring in 25.

Semifinals for Wednesday are as follows:
(5) Lourdes at (1) JF Ross - 4:00pm
(3) CWDHS at (2) St. James - 4:00pm

CWOSSA Qualification
Lourdes has advanced to the "AA" qualifier against either Delhi or Simcoe.
St. James has advanced to the "AAA" qualifier against CDDHS/Westside.

Centre Wellington and JF Ross have both qualified for "AAAA" CWOSSA, although the order of the teams will be determined by the remaining games.  If CWDHS loses on Wednesday, then JF Ross would automatically be "D10 #1" for the pool placement.
