St. Benedict, Resurrection & St. John's At Ontario All-Catholic This Weekend

The 37th Annual Fr. Kennedy Memorial Invitational: All Catholic Ontario Junior Boys Basketball Tournament will be taking place this coming weekend (February 1st and 2nd) in Hamilton.

Three CWOSSA teams will be present in the 16-team field, including two of my top three ranked junior teams --- #1 Cambridge St. Benedict, and #3 Kitchener Resurrection.  Brantford St. John's will also be participating.

Tournament favourites would include St. Michael's College (GTA #2) and Jean Vanier of Richmond Hill (GTA #3).  That said, those two teams both have losses on their resumés to D8 teams, with St. Benedict having beat Jean Vanier in tournament play, while Kitchener St. Mary's edged St. Michael's College way back in a November tournament.

Here's a look at the first round of the draw:

Bishop Reding (Milton) vs. Cardinal Newman (St Crk)
St. Benedict (Cambridge) vs. Bishop Ryan (Hamilton)

Notre Dame (Welland) vs. Brebeuf (Hamilton)
Notre Dame (Burlington) vs. Jean Vanier (Richmond Hill)

St. John's (Brantford) vs. Holy Trinity (Oakville)
Resurrection (Kitchener) vs. St. Thomas More (Hamilton)

Assumption (Burlington) vs. Cathedral (Hamilton)
St. Michael's College (Toronto) vs. Bishop Tonnos (Ancaster)
