The Grand River Renegades went to Woodbridge this past weekend to participate in the Wayne Nugent Invitational tournament, an 8-team affair where the Rens were the only non-GTA team in attendance.
Grand River had little difficulty with the host team in their opener, defeating Woodbridge College 76-45. Miro Iliev had a hot shooting night en route to 23 points in total.
On Saturday, it was Chuder Teny's turn to score 23 points as he helped lead the Rens to a 66-62 win over Fr. John Redmond (TDCAA) in the semifinals.
In the championship final, Grand River came up on the short end of a 51-34 decision to Crescent School.
Grand River's Chuder Teny & Murtada Khamis were both named as tournament all-stars.
