Junior: St. Francis (St. Catharines) Wins Resurrection's Luke Santi Memorial Tournament

St. Francis - St. Catharines

In an exciting championship finale at Resurrection on Saturday afternoon, one thing was certain --- that the Phoenix would be victorious.

Of course, with both the St. Francis (St. Catharines) Phoenix and the Resurrection Phoenix in the championship final, that was an obvious statement.

St. Francis edged Resurrection, 49-45, backed by a solid 26-point effort by tournament MVP Tyrell McLennan.  Demar Holness (21) and Jamu Iluya (16) were Rez's leading scorers.

St. Michael (Stratford) took the bronze championship (3rd place), with a convincing 63-34 win over St. Patrick's from Sarnia.  Jack Reilly led the way with 24 in that one for the Warriors.

Huron Heights (Kitchener) needed OT to beat St. Mike's (Niagara Falls) in the consolation final, 60-56.  Kuel Thomas had 16 to lead the way.  Interestingly enough, those two teams met in the first round with two overtimes being needed to decide the victor.
