WCSSAA Junior: Quarterfinal Tuesday

(1) SJAM vs. (9) KCI
RS:  SJAM 75, KCI 20
The Raiders were the lone "underdog" to advance through from the qualifying round, and their reward?  A date with CWOSSA #1 SJAM.  Based upon their regular season result, you might not see this as much of a contest, but I will note that the Raiders have been steadily improving through the course of the season.  I don't see a KCI win, but I at least expect them to show up here.

My Pick:  SJAM by 24

(2) Eastwood vs. (7) Forest Hts.
RS:  FHCI 46, ECI 44
An interesting one wherein the underdog, the #7 Trojans, won the regular-season match-up in what was a deep WCSSAA junior league.  In that game, both teams had 2 players account for 75%+ of their teams' points -- Branko Damjanovic and Filip Cabrilo (FHCI), and Laylee Jabateh + Mubaraak Aden Ibrahim for ECI.  Prabhjit Sangha is a usual name you'll see for ECI on their scoring leaders, so if he's up to his usual ways I look for ECI to win this time around.

My Pick:  ECI by 6

(3) Bluevale vs. (6) Cameron Hts.
RS:  BCI 57, CHCI 40
The Knights controlled the regular season meeting, but the Gaels are winners of 5 straight, including a blowout road win at Forest Heights, and come into this game with some momentum.  Interestingly enough, that 40-point effort in their first meeting was by far CHCI's lowest output of the year, and the only time they were held below 50 points in league play.  Does BCI have their number, or was it an off-night for CHCI shooting-wise?  Guess we'll find out today...

My Pick:  BCI by 8

(4) Glenview Park vs. (5) Grand River
RS:  GPSS 52, GRCI 29
Similar to the game mentioned above is this contest, where the Panthers held the Rens to just 29 points in their previous meeting, well below GRCI's only other game below 50 points (46 in a win over Galt).  I'm expecting a closer game this time around, but GPSS is another team that's playing well right now so it's tough to go against them.

My Pick:  GPSS by 6
