Senior: Assumption Nips St. JamesA battle between #4 St. James and #5 Assumption certainly lived up to the hype in the championship final of the Holy Trinity (Simcoe) tournament, with Assumption coming out on top in a 59-57 victory.
Mike King averaged 24.3 PPG for the tournament, including 25 in the championship final.
King had 25 and Brandon Vincent 16 in the semifinal, a 79-21 win over the hosts from Holy Trinity. The first-round win went down as a 63-39 win over College Avenue (Woodstock) with King scoring 23 and Andre Toic adding 16.
Junior: CWDHS Takes JHSS Title
Centre Wellington got 43 points from Cole Newton as they defeated St. James, 77-74 (in Overtime) to take home the title at the Jacob Hespeler Junior Tournament (part of the Hawks' Junior-Senior tournament that runs simultaneously in their two gyms).
