Our Lady of Lourdes CHS will host the first CWOSSA championship of the evening this afternoon in Guelph.
As usual, the D10 schools will enter the game as the prohibitive favourites. The D10 has won the last 7 junior titles and the last 6 at the senior level. If you include past WCSSAA (WODSS) and D8 (MDCSS) winners, the drought for the BAA/D4/D9 has been since 2000.
In junior, the four squads competing include Lourdes (D10), Wellington Heights (D4), St. Mary's - OS (BAA), and Sacred Heart (BAA).
In senior, we have Bishop Mac (D10), Wellington Heights (D4), Owen Sound CVI (BAA), and Sacred Heart (BAA).
The Celtics will be seeking their 7th straight "AA" CWOSSA championship.
The first-round games are as follows:
Junior
9am: Lourdes vs. Sacred Heart
10:30am: St. Mary's (OS) vs. Wellington Heights
Senior
Noon: Owen Sound CVI vs. Bishop Mac
1:30pm: Sacred Heart vs. Wellington Heights
