GUELPH — Brantford North Park captured the championship of the Crusader Classic junior girls’ basketball tournament by defeating the Bishop Macdonell Celtics in the final. The score and scoring details were not reported. Lourdes won the bronze-medal game 44-24 over Brantford Assumption. Monica Trimble had 10 points for the host Crusaders while Charlotte Case and Alana Toms added nine apiece.
Waterloo Collegiate defeated Waterloo Bluevale 36-27 in the consolation final.
In the championship semifinals, Bishop Mac defeated Assumption 32-19 and North Park edged Lourdes 31-26. Anna deLange, Mackenzie Bernhardt and Cassie Wilcocks each had six points for Bishop Mac. Trimble had six for Lourdes while Case, Jackie Iezzi and Erin Gerstenkorn added four apiece.
