Seedings have trickled out for the OFSAA girls' championships later this week.
The top seed for a CWOSSA team is at the AA level, where the Bishop Macdonell Celtics will go in as the #2 team, just behind General Amherst from the Windsor area. BMac will battle #11 St. Ignatius in their first OFSAA contest.
At the AAA level, North Park will enter as the #5 seed, and will start tournament play against #15 St. Basil in the 16-team tournament. Hamilton St. Mary's is the #1 seed at the AAA level.
WCI has received the #4 seed at AAAA OFSAA, and will battle #10 Notre Dame out of ROPSSAA (Brampton) in the first round. St. John's from Brantford will be seeded #11, and have a tough first game against the #1 seed, St. Thomas More (Hamilton).
At the "A" level, Walkerton DSS will enter as the #11 seed, facing #1 Rideau in their opening game.
Of course, tournaments are "double elimination", meaning that you are still alive if you drop your first game. Any losses after the first round, and you're out of championship contention.
